Macy’s Thanksgiving & Black Friday 2020 – Plans & Deals

While this year will still bring many deals during the holiday shopping season, many retailers have been forced to adjust the way they provide and organize sale events, and Macy’s is no exception. The retailer has announced its plans for this season’s sale events letting its customers know that it will be closed on Thanksgiving yet open for the year’s biggest sale event.

Macy’s is known as one of the most important clothing and home furnishing retailers offering a generous selection of brand products, but the retailer has also gained its appreciation thanks to its Thanksgiving Day Parade. Given this year’s social distancing norms, Macy’s has adjusted the way this parade will be held making major changes in an attempt to minimize contact and safety risks.

The traditional parade as Macy’s fans and customers know it will still take place, but it will be viewable only online as it will be a ‘television only special presentation’. While the 94th Annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade will be held, no attendees will be allowed, and the event will air on NBC on November 26 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. EST. It can be watched on any device with access to a live NBC feed.

The performances included in the parade won’t be live yet shot with local talents following the COVID-19 safety guidelines. According to Macy’s, this new approach will reduce the number of participants by 75%.

Macy’s Black Friday 2020 – Ad Release Date, Deals, and Shipping Options

Even though Macy’s will keep its stores closed on Thanksgiving and the parade will be different, it will open for the most anticipated sale event of the year. According to the information provided on the retailer’s official website, Black Friday specials will be available from November 24 to November 28, and customers will have the chance to benefit from huge savings on top brands.

Discounts will apply to a variety of products and will be available both online and in the retailer’s stores. We can expect to see price drops on clothes, accessories, shoes, furniture, and home items.

Last year, the retailer offered select deals only around specific times, and we might see this happening this year as well. Plus, coupons including $10 off $25 orders and $25 off $50 purchases were also part of the Black Friday deals, which might occur in 2020, too.

Interested shoppers can thus shop online, in the app, or in-store. To support social distancing, the retailer offers curbside pickup services. Same-day delivery will also be available.

While the Black Friday ad was released on November 12 in 2019, it is expected to drop earlier this year, with rumors saying that sale and pricing information should roll on November 4 or around that date. However, if you want to be among the first to receive alerts about this year’s Black Friday deals, you can always sign up.
